Accidentally bought sentry pro flea control for dog over 66 lbs. my dog is about 5 pounds?

Im getting a new puppy and I accidentally bought the one month flea control for dogs over 66lbs. I am getting a maltese/poodle puppy later today that is about 5 lbs. Is it ok if i only apply a little bit of the tube?
