Do I need 'Bonjour' on my laptop?

Bonjour comes installed with iTunes/QuickTime. Basically, it's just for sharing your music over Wifi, streaming your music to speakers over the air, and stuff like that. It says it's an important component to iTunes, but if you uninstall it, nothing happens. You just can't stream your music wirelessly.
